John Deere

At John Deere I learned how to write clean code and become a clean coder.

I was recruited to work for John Deere in September of 2016. I was hired as a frontend software engineer for a scrum team working on a suite of web applications for the agricultural industry. I didn’t know anything about React, Redux, or even Node, but I did know JavaScript. So I picked up new libraries and frameworks along the way.

This was my first experience working in an agile software environment. It was also the first job I had that required paired programing almost daily. I learned more about software development in a year at John Deere than I did throughout all my time at college.

A year later, I’ve assumed a more senior role in the development community and will be leading an upcoming team.
